Perfect for beginners, the easy to follow pattern is pre-printed on the fabric and the kit includes everything else you need to create your own beautiful piece of hoop art.

    The kit contains a sharp needle and we recommend adult supervision.

    I chose the kit because I had just seen a pair of otters and I liked the look of the design. I would have welcomed some advice on starting and finishing the many spaced out French knots. In the end I used 2 rather than 3 strands of thread for the finer details such as the otters faces, fish and air bubbles, and wished I had done that from the outset. Pleased with the end result but enjoyed more other Hawthorn kits that used a greater variety of stitches and colours.

    My 5th one

    I've now done the rabbits, cats, pigs, squirrels and otters of this series. I adore them, and the otters have definitely been my favourite (despite the french knots!). I love the colour of the fabric and its a nice quick project. Definitely good for beginners, the included booklet is great for learning the basic stitches and to build some confidence.
